I’m a former reporter who fell into the wellness industry. Now I’m a plant-based lifestyle advocate and facilitator. My mission is to help you live your healthiest life.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and Journalism from the University of South Florida, and I am also a published contributor to Sarasota Herald-Tribune, The Weekly Challenger, and Crow’s Nest. Right out of high school, I served four enlisted years in the U.S. Air Force as an intelligence specialist.
I’m a father and am currently happily (and gainfully) employed by Detwiler’s Farm Market, a family-owned market with four locations in the Sarasota/Manatee area in Southwest Florida.
For better or for worse, I’ve spent most of my working life in the restaurant and food retail industries fulfilling an eclectic array of job titles: line cook, restaurant manager, fishmonger, waiter, oyster shucker, seafood department manager, and marketing and public relations director. Today you might know me as the guy who runs the health and wellness department at Detwiler’s in Palmetto.
Being a former overweight, over-medicated, serial omnivore with an addictive personality, I overcame a series of lifestyle related health afflictions and transformed myself into the sober, vegan, health and fitness proponent that I am today.
But my journey isn’t over yet. I’ve only begun to scratch the surface. My life’s mission is to help make the inhabitants of beautiful spaceship Earth a little happier and little healthier, one person at a time.
